South Into North

South into North is a curatorial and art-advisory agency specialized in contemporary art. We work with public and private clients, as well as with not-for-profit art institutions, focusing on the development and production of art commissions. Drawing on our international network and wide expertise we bring together the individuals and resources to produce outstanding contemporary art projects. South into North was founded in 2013 by curators Francesca Astesani and Julia Rodrigues and is based in Copenhagen.

What we do

We tailor our curatorial approach to each project and client, thoroughly analyzing the given context and formulating the conceptual background for the development of new commissions, whilst carefully taking into consideration the financial and technical possibilities involved.

Our activities include:

Advising public and private clients on the commissioning of artworks.

Formulating and realizing ad-hoc art strategies for the implementation of artworks in the private and public sector

Curating the development of new art projects with focus on solo presentations and new commissions

Coordinating the production of exhibitions and special projects in art institutions in Denmark and abroad
